I would like the know how to increase and/or decrease the size of my navigation and menu bars. Not of the text but the bars themselves. It has happened to me twice now where, during my normal browsing, instead of zooming the webpage in and out I somehow zoom the navigation bar. This resulted the first time in a navigation and menu bar so tiny they were almost impossible to read.

A complete un- and re-install of the browser fixed it, but it happened again recently. Only this time my Navigation, Menu, and Bookmarks bar are twice their size.

I don't know what in my mouse movement's triggered the changes, as I have tried to repeat the effect on purpose and failed. I've looked in aboug:config but none of the 'layout' preferences show any user modification and are all on their default settings.

Right now my bars are so large that they're annoying.

And if it helps narrow down what's going on, the size changes also affected the writing inside the bars, making them smaller/larger.

If you use a custom theme then it is possible that there is a problem with that theme or another extension is causing that problem.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.

You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
