I am running Firefox 3.6.13. I had a file corruption problem and had to reformat to the factory image and then reinstall all of my software. I used mozbackup to backup firefox settings. I restored and it put back my bookmarks, and passwords fine, but my extensions ansd plugins were not reinstalled. Now I have reinstalled extensions several times. However, whenever I restart my computer they all become uninstalled again. I can open and close firefox without this hapening, however, restarting the computer is a different story.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

Thank you!

That seems to have taken care of the problem. I have rebooted my PC twice and the extensions I installed have stayed installed. YAY! It was driving me nuts.
