Data Mgr 1.0 interferes with some communications. For example, I cannot ask a seller a question on ebay. I always get a page telling me that "this function is not working right now". There have also been a couple other communication related problems. Disabling it fixes everything, but I want to uninstall it and I cannot. The uninstall box is always grayed out and non-functional. I've tried sort of "recycling" it by disabling it, restarting Firefox, then enabling it and restarting again. I've done this several times, but the uninstall button stays grayed out. How can I get this thing out of my system?

By the way, I also tried restarting the whole system after disabling Data Mgr 1.0, then enabling it and restarting the system again. This still didn't turn the uninstall function on for this thing.

Have you looked in the Windows Control Panel > Add/ Remove Programs for that Data Mgr 1.0?
If it is there, un-install that program from there.

An extension all by itself shouldn't have disabled the Un-install button in the Extensions Manager window, but programs that install Firefox extensions globally thru the Windows Registry have been known to disable that button. Mozilla contacts developers who do that to try to convince them not to disable that button, but only when it affects many millions of users.

Nope, already looked, in fact. If it's in there, it's under some other name, but I can't find any program that I don't actually know what it is. I also looked inside the Mozilla programs file, but all the application extensions in there have file names with no relationship to the "normal" names of the things, so if it's in there, I have no way to tell which one it is.

I think I just figured it out (Data mgr 1.0) I had installed Micro soft media player plug in fire fox, which worked fine. It seems some how Microsoft used that media player plug to install Data Mgr 1.0. I deleted Micro Soft media player plug in the control panel and both media player plug and Data mgr 1.0 extension were deleted together.

(strange data mgr 1.0 appeared months after i installed that MS media player plug, actually it appeared on july 4, it was only on my system that one day before i noticed it.)
