I use on-line banking and purchasing - no longer get "padlock" icon to denote security. What's up with that?
Where's the icon? Does the missing icon mean that the connection is not secure?

The padlock has been replaced by the site identity button, for details on using it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button
