Why, with each update, do I have to be more of a computer programmer to understand what's going on?

Don't know if this is the place to post my question, but here goes...each time I upgrade to the next version of Firefox, it becomes increasingly difficult to use/understand. Why do I feel the need to be more of a computer programmer to use your browser anymore??? When I find answers to correct or update a problem I am having with the new update, I don't understand half of what they are telling me to do! For example, why did you have to change the "exit and save changes" option??? The suggestions for coping with this change are confusing and frustrating. At this point, I am about ready to drop Firefox totally and try different browsers. I'd rather not, but you are not really leaving me much of a choice.

Other browser may get extra features as well in the future that change the behavior and appearance. With Firefox you have a lot of extensions available that can undo such changes if you do not like them or do not want to use them.

Which changes don't you like and want to revert?

If you do not like the new appearance of Firefox 4 then you can change some setting to restore the Firefox 3 appearance.

You can right click the orange Firefox button to open the toolbar menu.

  • Click the Menu Bar entry to make the Menu Bar visible.
  • Click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark and place the Tab Bar at its original position just above the browser window.

I don't like the fact they have taken away the option to save my current tabs when I close my browser. It may sound picky, but it was a great convenience to me. Anymore, it seems if "it works", "change it"! Remember the famous saying..."If it ain't broke...don't fix it". Any suggestions (in Layman's terms) on how to fix this problem or another way to save my current tabs when I exit my browser? Thanks!

Firefox 4 automatically save your tabs without asking when you close Firefox 4. When you start Firefox 4 the next time, use the Restore Previous Session link on the about:home (the default homepage) or if you have your own homepage set, use History > Restore Previous Session.
