When I log into my Fastmail.fm email account I get this notice: "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page". Is there any way to disable this and allow Firefox to automatically redirect? I've not experienced this issue with any other FF versions, including the FF4 betas.

Click the orange Firefox button, then go to Options | Options | Advanced and uncheck Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page.

See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u (click the Accessibility link).

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Your info is for Windows XP and Firefox 3.5 but I've got a Mac w/OS 10.5.8 and Firefox 4 so the protocol is a bit different as I discovered. The "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" setting is located in Firefox/preferences/Advanced/Accessibility; I unchecked it and, voila, problem solved!

OK. I admit I'm not so familiar with the MAC menus. ;)

The location is the same though for FF4.0.x

Hi, isn't that to all sites?? I only want to allow sites that I trust, to redirect, not all the others? How do I do that? mvh Birthe

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

If malware is suspected, there should be no need to use paid for tools to remove it.
