I just downloaded Firefox today, the newest version, 4.0, and I cannot add new bookmarks. I do the add bookmark option, and nothing even appears in the toolbar or side tab. I tried importing my bookmarks from IE and nothing even appears, just my history, passwords and settings are imported.

Please do the following.

Install Java from http://www.java.com/en/

Update Flash player via http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If the problem persists afterwards, please post here again.

This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
