Every day I have to enter my id and passwords for sights I log into. As long as I go back to those sites on the current day firefox will remember my id and password. After I shut my computer down for the night and come back the next day there are no pass words saved in my tool options and I have to do the process all over again. This is an every day problem.

Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Privacy.

In the dropdown menu at the top, change the setting to "Use custom settings for history".

In the menu options which appear underneath, checkmark "Remember search and form history" (I think it checkmarks it automatically, but wise to check it).

Remove the checkmark from "Clear history when Firefox closes".

I'll be on vacation for a month from tomorrow, so I won't be able to respond again until mid-July.

Ok, I'll shut down and restart and see if the problem is still there.

I shut down and restarted, all my passwords were there, so that's a good thing. Thank you for you help.
