When opening Firebox, about:blank takes over, need help to remove
About:blank has somehow gotten into my system. Whenever I log on to the internet through Firefox, many errors occur like timing out when searching, long neverending cycle to go to another site, open and closing tabs etc. I have noticed about:blank showing up in the taskbar at times, taking the place where mozilla firefox was before???? Need help in getting rid of this malicious software.

About:Blank is normally just one of the options offered for opening Firefox -
Options>General>Start-up>you are offered three methods - opening in a blank page(About:Blank), home page, or as you finished last time.
If you think you have malware, I presume you have run an anti-virus scanner and a spyware removal program.
You should try the free download Malwarebytes -
