I have tried restoring cookie functionality several times and am getting nowhere.

within the past few days i have attempted to log in to Gmail and facebook and have been told that I have no cookie functionaolity and to turn it on. I have followed the instructions repeatedly and have gotten nowhere. i have looked for every avenue i could find for clearing the cache, enabling cookies, etc, and have followed instructions to the letter. Nada. This is bad. Content on these are critical to both employment and urgent family obligations

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

There is also security software (firewall) that can block cookies.
