firefox 7.01 will not (no matter how I try it) view pdf's

I upgraded to ff7.01 from 3. whatever on osx 10.5.8 I cannot view pdf's I have tried all of the suggestions regarding this, install uninstall etc. how do I fix this? even if I go back & reinstall FF3.6... i still cannot view pdf's i do not want to use safari, or g-chrome, please help. thanks

I have tried everything to get PDFs to open. Reinstalling Adobe Reader, installing PDF Download, all to no avail. Everything worked fine before updating to 7.01. Do not want to use Chrome or IE, but may have no option unless there is a fix. When clicking a PDF, the only Tab that opens is a blank one with Rich text editor in the Tab Name.
