how do i get firefox to remember a log in word and password that I am using but have not yet saved to firefox

Sir, I have a number of sites that I visit but at the time did not save the log in and passwords when prompted by firefox. Can you please let me know how I can ask firefox to remember these details for future use Many thanks Stephen Innes.

If you clicked "Never" then you have created an exception that you need to remove.
Otherwise Firefox should prompt to store the name and password on the next visit.


Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.


Remove site(s) from the Exceptions:

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions

Websites may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.

You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
