IF USING A BROWSER LIKE FIREFOX 2 or below and still having issues please go to: Help/troubleshooting information/"Header" Application basics and then open the containing folder for profile, then delete extensions.cache, extensions.ini and extensions.rdf This has also been duplicated and tested and it does seem to clear up some basic issues with the plugin hanging or disappearing, but I have not been able to duplicate Corrupted issues in any older browsers only firefox 3+ i personally believe it is caused from hardware accelerator and the plugin not being updated to support it thus (abandon ware)
