Firefox browser does not come up with typical news, business, sports, etc. How do I make this occur?
I have downloaded Mozilla Firefox, but when I 'open' what should be the Firefox 'browser', it only brings up a screen that wants me to download Firefox for mobile and other various options. Why does it not bring all the typical browser general information like Yahoo.com does. I don't like AOL.com. I can get AOL to pop up the info I am talking about - but I can not get Firefox to pop this type screen. How can I make this happen?

If you want a browser to browse, you have to tell it what address to browse. Yahoo.com is a start. If you visit some of the links there, you can bookmark the pages that you like, keep clicking more links, and branch out from there.
Thank you Finitary. Your answer concerning the 'browsing' experience was true, and I Can 'browse' via the address block and putting in the site address.
To clarify a little - Yahoo and AOL are 'browsers' And when you put in their site address, their initial screen will pop up with all kinds of pre-defined (which you can modify) news links, business links, sports, etc. presented on the main page, frow which you can select. Firefox does not seem to do that - and maybe it is not designed to do that sort of action, maybe because it is Open-source.
Am I looking for/expecting something that it is not intended to do?

Yahoo is a search engine, not a browser. Firefox is a browser. You can get Firefox to take you back to a page you like if you bookmark it. Pull down the Bookmark menu and choose "Bookmark this page" to do that. Bookmarks are easier to find if they are categorised in folders, so when you have collected a few of them, it is a good idea to separate them into folders for different topics.
Thank you Finitary. Your answer clarifies my understanding between a search engine and a browser. Using this info I have selected Yahoo has my default search engine and it seems to be doing as I expected. Now I am working on selecting the app's and other add-ons that I am going to use with Firefox. I don't think I will have trouble with that part, expect determining Which ones I need to use and what each add-on is designed to do.

Thank you for your help on this set of questions. With the help of you and finitarry, I have this problem solved. First I did not fully understand the difference between a search engine and a browser. And I have now selected Yahoo as my search engine, now I get what I was looking for on FireFox, the same type of information/news, etc page that I get if I pull up IE.
