Many web sites have a tick box. When ticked, the browser remembers the login data.

My Firefox never remembers login data. How can I fix this please?

Make sure you are not in Private mode, and that you are saving passwords data

Double-click in the userid field to see/select your userid if not filled in automatically.

The first time you use the password -- check-mark the "Remember" password box. If your userid and password is not remembered for a few sites, you may not have control over it. But for the most part when a site suppresses your ability to :remember" userid and/or password you can use a "remember" bookmarklet, see

Additional unrelated password articles that may be of interest to you

Specifically in answer to your question asking if there are settings -- Yes, though it is unlikely you would have changed them.

Bring up about:config and filter on privacy -- anything beginning with "privacy." or "security." should be at default, if not then right-click on the line and choose "Reset", or you could double-click to reverse a true/false setting.
