What can be done about this? Today, firefox kept crashing and closing unexpectedly. I went on mozilla and downloaded the new version of firefox and java script. Now I keep getting the java script message: Exc in ev handl: Error Bad NPObject as private data. Please advise.

That issue can be caused by the McAfee Site Advisor extension
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
