This morning when I logged on, all of my bookmarks were missing and just had default items. In addition, all of my add ons, etc, are missing. I looked around online and found that this means I am either not in my profile or my profile is missing. I followed the troubleshooting advice to find my profile, but the only profile that shows up is called default, which is apparently the one I am using right now. I also tried the directions for importing bookmarks, but no previous versions show up that way. I searched for JSON files for bookmarks and my computer can only find one from 2010. I was under the impression that Firefox automatically creates backups, so where did the past year's backups go? In fact, while trying to solve this today, I can now find TODAY's back up in the import list under bookmarks. Last night it worked fine, but my husband did uninstall a virus protection program (had several running and it was messing up the computer). He did not uninstall Firefox or anything else. Is my profile gone? Hiding somewhere? I have tried various search options that I've found online regarding finding profiles and bookmarks, but none turn up in the results (other than the bookmark file from 2010). If nothing else, I'd like to at least restore the 2010 bookmarks, but I can't seem to import those either. I have hundreds of bookmarks that are important to me and I can't figure out how they all just disappeared overnight without a trace!
