Hello,

I've encountered an increasing number of web pages which never stop loading when I browse them with Firefox. http://www.thestar.com/news is an example. The whole page loads, but the rotating green "loading page" icon in the tab keeps going forever. The status tab at the bottom of the Firefox window says it's reading topscms.com.

I can manually click on the red X in the URL field to stop it.

This isn't a problem with other browsers.

I tried restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled, and the problem persists.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

JACK

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thanks - tried each of your suggestions, but the problem remains.

Anything else I can try?
