Until this morning, when I clicked on a website in my bookmarks menu, the new site automatically opened in a new tab, preserving the website I am currently viewing. I did not have to press "Command" key to accomplish this. Now, however, I must press "Command" key to open a new website from my bookmarks menu, and preserve the earlier website I was viewing. Under Preferences I have checked "Open new windows in a new tab instead". Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Were you using an Addon for this before? I can't remember this ever being the behavior for me. You can use this addon to add that back:

Open Bookmarks in New Tab Addon

Thanks; it solved my problem. Firefox was already doing this for me but it stopped for some reason this AM. I employed your suggested Addon and now all is back to normal. Cheers
