I am running Mac 10.5.8 with the most recent version of Firefox and am unable to install Adobe Flash Player. I have tried uninstalling the previous versions of flash and have even used the Adobe Flash Uninstaller tool for mac to make sure everything is removed. I have verified that the new 11.1 Flash version has installed and Safari and Chrome both recognize it as being installed. However, on Firefox I just keep receiving the message " Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page". Additionally, I have tried multiple versions of Firefox downgrading all the way to 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@ ideato, I have tried everything listed in the help link "Verbatim" . I have even tried using the Adobe uninstaller tool for Macs when uninstalling the older version of Flash. Still to no luck , I am having the same issue. This issue is only within Firefox, I am able to update and use flash fine in Chrome or Safari , just not Firefox. If anyone has any other suggestions please help it would be much appreciated.

try to disable the message " Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" to see if this is the problem, in About:config modify plugins.hide_infobar_for_missing_plugin to true

type in the address bar about:config

then press the button i'll be careful i promise

then type in the bar plugins.hide_infobar_for_missing_plugin

then double-click on it, to make it TRUE

exit firefox and restart-it.

See for info : Plugins.hide infobar for missing plugin

if this does not work you can change it again it the default FALSE.

thanks again
