When I open a new tap then select a web site, I don’t want the “Go back one page” button to open.
When I open new websites I like to have them as a “starting point.” (Like when you first open fire fox to your home page) In older versions, I would open a new tab then select a website from my bookmarks. After I opened the website the back button on the browser would be greyed out, thus, making the site I just opened a starting point.
Now, as I open a new tab then go to one of my websites, it has it go back to the blank tab for a starting point. I can see how this may be useful with the new tabs features. However, for me when I open a new website, I don’t want to go back to the tab page, (I want the new page that I opened to be my “starting point”). It may not seem like much, but if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

If you hold the Ctrl key to launch the link in a new tab, or the Shift key to launch the link in a new window, those will both open with no previous history to go back to. However, I can't think of a way to do that in the same tab.
