creating bookmark folder freezes on name "New Folder"
Hi,
it may be related to the fact that I configure "one-click open file" and "one-click open dir" on for file system browsing (I mean Win Explorer or nautilus). This problem happens under WinXP prof and Ubuntu 12.04/Unity.
Open a page with firefox, press Ctrl+D -> click "Show all bookmark folders" -> click "New Folder".
A new folder appears as normal but does not allow you to change its name. So u have to save your bookmark under the folder "New Folder", than go to edit bookmarks and change its name.
FIREFOX 14.0.1 (but it has been happening since many months with me, on windows and ubuntu)
Is this problem known?
Thx...

Are you using Firefox Sync?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can try to check and repair the places database with this extension:
U r right. It happens in synchronized Ffox installs. I just tried in a non-synchronized one and it works fine. But i couldnt yet identify the problem.
Would prefer to always sync, or else redo by hand all lots of bookmarks again ....... :-/
thx anyway ...
- bug 697649 - Enabling bookmarks sync with firefox causes initial naming of "new folder" to lose focus
u got it!
I still have this bug on two PC (Windows 7 and Windows Vista), Firefox Portable from PortableApps. I've tried cleaning history/doing places.sql maintence. My firefox version is 15.
If I disable just bookmarks sync, problem goes away
