Hotmail causing Firefox to Crash
Ever-since the most-recent update to the Firefox Browser - and, only-when I am using Hotmail - I get a thin yellow strip across the top saying: "This page wants to install a plugin (a 32-bit) that will require restarting your browser.
I click "Okay", Firefox restarts - then, this process REPEATS itself (over & over again).
If I IGNORE - or click the X (to close this alert-window) Firefox CRASHES - and I LOSE all of the text in the message I am composing.
WHAT is going on here??? Sooooo ANNOYING!!!!

I'm also on Snow Leopard, but I don't have that problem. I don't get a plugin prompt either.
Does the Mozilla Crash Reporter come up? If so,
- Open Firefox.
- Go to Help>Troubleshooting Information, then click on "about:crashes". That should take you to a page listing your crash reports.
- Click on your latest crash report, which should take you to a web page starting with "https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/" and post the address of your latest crash report.
We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.
That may be a problem with Silverlight.
You can use these steps to start Firefox in 32 bit mode:
- Close Firefox
- Start the Finder and open the Applications folder
- Right click or control-click the Firefox.app icon
- Select "Get Info"
- Select or Deselect "Open in 32-bit mode"
- Close the "Firefox Info" window # Restart Firefox
