Initially my Firefox was 'freezing' 10-15 secs after start and Task Mgr had to be used to close it. I tried a reset (add-ons disabled) and an 'Old Firefox Data" file was created automatically. Firefox now appears to be operating OK and I would like to get a couple of my add-ons and extensions back. How can I retrieve these (specifically ReminderFox) as my memory has failed me way too often and I have lots of reminders there?.

You can install a fresh copy of ReminderFox. The trick is how to recover its data. Unfortunately, each add-on stores data differently, so there isn't one universal method.

The ReminderFox help page has this information about file locations. The first method might not be useful since you are no longer running your original profile, but the second provides some useful clues:

"ReminderFox stores all of its data in a file called reminderfox.ics. To see the location of this file, go to the Tools menu at the top of Firefox and select ReminderFox->Options. Click the ‘File’ tab. Uncheck ‘Use Default’ and note the path to the reminderfox.ics file. Browse to that file on your computer and make a copy of it for a backup."

"Automatic backups of reminder files are kept in your profile’s reminderfox directory (snapshots for today and yesterday). You’ll find them in your Firefox or Thunderbird profile directory, with a .bak1, .bak2, or .bak3 extension."

If you open the "old" folder, can you see a reminderfox directory? You might try copying that entire folder into your new Reset profile. To easily open your Reset profile, use:

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button

Fingers crossed that after you do that and install ReminderFox in your Reset profile, it will magically find all your data.

Thank you very much. I had already reinstalled Firefox and reentered a lot of the info but after following your suggestions I was surprised at how much I had forgotten. Thank you. (I have made an Excel copy of the important stuff in case of future boo-bbos.)
