Each time I start my web browser (firefox ver. 16.0.1) not only does my selected home web page load, but also the firefox plugin check & updates page loads too. So two webpages open. How do I keep the plugin & updates page from loading? The page lists that All updates & plugins are up to date! Why is this web page continually load each time I open firefox? It's annoying as all hell. Thanks, th'Chief

See these articles for some suggestions:

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols.

If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:

I read in another thread that if Firefox detects that you are running a blocklisted add-on (typically many versions out of date), then you might get that page opening automatically. I also read that after Firefox 18, it shouldn't happen any more. I haven't tried to experience this for myself.

Many thanks to all whom replied, Had not realized there was update available... (I guess that's possible when selecting no auto update checking, por favor) thanks for your suggestion feer56... that did th' trick.

Could I suggest using the "notify me" option for automatic updates? They aren't forced on you, but you won't be in the dark about security fixes.

That very well be a possibility also, as I did have a couple outdated, block listed add-ons listed, although firefox had Auto-diabled them stating they were not compatible with installed ver. 16. Thanks for th' suggestion jscher2000.
