Just wanted to make sure that Mozilla realized there was a a problem using Firefox to connect with Chase Bank. I was able to complete my activities however I had to use MS IE to do so. Is this something being done to correct this?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

I too have this problem - I just uninstalled Mozilla and Installed it back. I could not connected to Chase Bank Website -I could do it with IE without any issue.

I go through that procedure every night and the problem has existed for 3 days now. I have access to the info I need if I use MS IE, however the problem still continues using Firefox.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

nikhil.parekh: Please Ask A New Question better assist you.

msmelbia: Have you tried Firefox safe mode?
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

I am a Chase bank user and cannot access their page UNLESS I use IE...FIrefox won't get me there. (By the way, I'm not a "techie" but can find my way around a computer.) I have done everything that has been suggested here -- uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox (20.0), cleared cache & cookies, started in Safe Mode -- and nothing has worked. Oh, and starting in safe mode did not alleviate the problem. Again, I *am* able to access the Chase page if I use IE.

The error message I continue to get (only when trying to access Chase / no other web sites) is:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.

If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web

I hope you folks figure this out soon...I miss FIrefox.

See this thread for a workaround for issues with chase.com and change the user agent for this website to Firefox/19.

You can create a new String pref on the about:config page to override the user agent for the chase.com domain.
