How do you get rid of search bars that appear over images after you mouse over them?

When I mouse over any image on certain sites a white 'x' in a black circle appears in the right corner of the image and a search bar in the left corner. Mousing over the search causes a dropdown box to appear with about three links. Clicking the 'x' closes the search bar, but how I keep them from always popping up? Very annoying when on a page with multiple images (ex. browsing someone's gallery of images on DeviantArt)

That's odd -- if you run a search, what gets searched??

This is most likely a feature of an add-on. You can review your add-ons and as a first step disable ALL nonessential and unrecognized plugins and extensions.

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

After restarting Firefox, if the display persists, could you post a screen shot of it to see whether anyone recognizes it? This article might help: How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

I disabled quite a few add-ons and it seems to be working fine, now. Thank you for your help!
