Just today photobucket uploader stopped working. Has been working for years! I upgraded to Firefox 20 yesterday.. but uploader was working.

I tried reinstalling Firefox 20 then back to firefox 19.... does not help.

I hit some sort of clear firefox thing and did that... the reinstalled photobucket uploader... but still have the same problem I have cleared all browser history... a few times.

Right click and image gives "login to uploader" Clicking that does nothing.. no window to login with... nothing. Similarly in tools/photobucket uploader I see login as an option... NOTHING happens when I click that. I have NEVER seen an uploader login before.. let alone logged in?

I run a forum and use photo-upload many many times a day... I need it.

Here is the reason.

http://support.photobucket.com/entries/21508269-Firefox-Photobucket-Uploader-Extension-Issues-4-3-2013-

Due to reasons outside of our control, the Firefox Photobucket Uploader extension will no longer be functioning. The Firefox Photobucket Uploader is a third party app, meaning that it is not a tool that Photobucket created. We have made various code updates, we do not maintain this tool and therefore cannot update it.

What you will want to do is use the URL uploader in place of the extension. The steps to upload via URL can be found below.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I HAVE cleared cookies, all history many times.. just tried again.

I have reset Firefox. Which removed add ons, including photobucket uploader.

I re-uploaded photobucket uploader.

I reinstalled Firefox20

I went back to firefox 19.

It is VERY frustrating This feature is probably why I stick with Firefox.

THIS is some silly thing that started suddenly yesterday after years.

IF Firefox is asking for a login... why is there NO PLACE at all to login.

This is crazy.

This problem started with no changes my end.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled firefox (2 versions) and the addon photobucket uploader.

Running Firefox in "Safe" mode is no help... because in safe mode addon is disabled.. so of course it is not there to work at all.

I have cleared all browser history.

I have rebooted computer.

I have reset firefox and so removed all addons.. then put just photobucket uploader back.

For some reason Photobucket uploader now requires a loggin... why?

FINE! I will do that... only how in heavens name do I do that?

Clicking login does nothing.

I think it might be due to Photo Bucket releasing Photobucket Desktop.

The Photobucket Uploader icon at the bottom right of the screen changed to only having Account Login and Settings.

Maybe Photobucket Desktop replaced Photobucket Uploader 1.3.3 automatically.

I removed Photobucket Desktop but still can't access Photobucket Uploader which is a great add on.

Thanks After all I tried with firefox I did come to the conclusion it was likely Photobucket problem.

I have written to them (twice).. no reply yet.

Very annoying and customer unfriendly move on their part.

I will be letting them know that.

This not the only "Improvement" that shows PB have NO IDEA what their customers actually do with PB... and need. A VERY poor showing on their part

Hi

Sorry you are having problems. I did raise this issue with Pb... and frankly they care NOTHING for actually providing or maintaining what their customers need. The uploader was a 3rd party thing... but it WAS PB who made changes they made it not work.

The url thing works... but I dont like it either.

I now go thru the extra step of downloading pics to my computer... THEN uploading to PB.

You can either browse and find the pic on your computer... but easiest thing is to have a folder open on your computer where the pic(s) are.... press upload at PB... and "click and drag" the pic across.
