GEICO customers (www.geico.com) are complaining that when attempting to view and print official insurance ID cards using FF browser they are getting a colored background. The actual color varies. We have confirmed this is occuring on versions 19 and 21 and started with the build in viewer. When printing the PDF the color background is printing and creating documents that are unusable and out of compliance for the customer. This issue is also using large volumes of ink for the customer when printing.

Is this issue known and being fixed with an upcoming FF version?

Do you have a sample PDF (with obviously invalid cards) that you could provide a link to for testing? Also, does it matter whether the user has assigned a background color to browser pages? (By default, the background color is white.)

One of the complexities of the PDF viewer project is that some work is done by Mozilla (and tracked on Bugzilla) and other work is done on Github. This can make it challenging to track down the status of issues.

hello geicoit, the pdf viewer is still somewhat experimental and under very active development - you could try if the same error is occurring in the current development version, which you can download as an addon from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi

in case it has the the same rendering problems, you could then file a bug report at https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues (a github account is necessary for it though) - please also provide a sample document where the error is apparent!
