Cannot find missing plugin, online banking will no longer work
As of 29th May 2013, can no longer use Barclays Internet Banking on Firefox. I visit http://www.barclayscorporate.com/bit/ then click Login (Business Internet Banking), to get to https://ibank1.bib.barclays.com/logon/ If I then click to log in, I get a message 'Additional Plugins are required to run all the media on this page'. Clicking 'Install missing plugins' finds none missing., I have updated Windows, checked manually in Firefox for missing plugin, restarted, cleared cache and cookies, checked that Cookies are enabled, etc. I use a card reader to access Internet banking. The outcome presently is that I have to use IE for Internet Banking

hello, in case the plugin got missing after you've updated firefox to version 21 please try this: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named plugins.load_appdir_plugins. double-click it and change its value to true (a restart of the browser might be necessary afterwards for the change to take effect).
some background on the issue is explained in http://www.ghacks.net/2013/05/15/why-you-may-have-lost-access-to-plugins-or-extensions-in-firefox-21/

Contact the web site management. There may be a problem with the web page. Another thing to try is to re-install all of your current plug ins.

I really didn't want to use IE!
Hi, thank you for reply, I did contact Barclays but they (and most banks so far as I can see) advise to turn off auto updates for browsers, Firefox or anything else, as they can support only up to e.g. IE9, Firefox 17.
