It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I'm unsure what your saying, I'm not very bright with computers...but my anti virus Malware Bytes is not listed here as to how to unblocK Firefox or check if it's blocked...It's really only links on Steam/Skype ect that I try to click that I can't open, and my anti virus usualy alerts me when it blocks something, and it doesn't say anything when I click on a link.

also I'll add that links on websites work, just links on instant messanger programs do not

Check that the links you are using are valid. If you are not sure, delete the old ones and create new links.

it's just links through instant messangers...when I click them they don't work, like example, if a friend links me a youtube video, clicking the link won't work, but copy/pasting it into the URL bar will work, just more of a hassle
