Is this issue new for you in Firefox 22, or did it also occur in Firefox 21?
Do you have all the latest RealPlayer / Real Downloader updates?

You can install Firefox 21 using the link in this article, downgrade section: Install an older version of Firefox.
I don't use this add-on, so I don't know why it works in Firefox 21 but not Firefox 22. Hopefully someone with first-hand knowledge will have an answer.
Hello, jscher2000
I'm having the same problem after upgrading from Firefox = (
Hi agnaldus, I don't use this add-on myself, so I haven't been keeping an eye on it. Have you checked with the publisher to see whether an update is available by now?
Hi, jscher2000
I am a layman in this subject(software). =( I done these down to try to active again the real player button, and also tried reinstall an upgraded Real player, but I haven´t result. =(
Firefox 22 Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
Firefox 22 Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins category
Installing FF 21 worked for me!!!
Thanks!!!
I too have the same problem. If there is an easy way to solve this issue would be much appreciated. New version of firefox should be better but looks like these issues keeps on coming. Such problem had occurred before. I wonder why such mistakes crept in again. To revert back to the old version of Firefox is always not the comfortable option.
FOr the record---
---I have reinstalled the latest version of Real Player twice. --I've made sure all the add-ons and plugins it creates are enabled.
It doesn't work with FF 22.
The download button simply does not appear.
I saw in another thread a debate over whose fault this was, FF or Real, but realistically, as discussed before, the lightning fast speed of version updates from Mozilla breaks lots of extensions all the time and makes upgrading a peril every time. It is hard for developers to keep up given this update program that was adopted a couple of years ago.
Worse still, I can't figure out what is going to break until I install the program...if I could get an advance report, I just wouldn't install the upgrade.
When I see a FF boilerplate comment like this, I react with skepticism: "Often when there is a problem with a Firefox update, people look for a way to go back to the previous version. That usually doesn't solve the problem and will make your computer and information vulnerable to attack."
Well, it's always solved my problem, but let's ignore that part for the moment. The bogeyman of security to compel updating is often grossly exaggerated for several reasons. Realistically, security patches might, but don't always or even usually, have to require entire version updates that routinely break add-ons in the program. It is possible to issue a security patch without an entire update. Ask Microsoft.
There's also a lot of stuff in these version updates that has zip to do with security. Simple answer....Security patches should be issued separately to avoid the developing vibe where people just refuse to upgrade because of all the problems and few benefits. Security is a separate issue and should be kept separate. Unnecessary updates demonstrably often cause more harm than good. I can't think of any features in FF 22 that I particularly needed that I wasn't getting in FF 21. The updates are often extremely minor functionally. But they are still listed as entire version updates and they can cause notable havoc.
It would help a lot if I could just get an analysis before I update of what extensions are going to be broken. And if security updates were separate, I wouldn't feel coerced into upgrading to minor releases.
I'm reverting right now to version 21.
EDIT: Solved the problem. All is well. If there were any cool features in 22 that I don't now have, I haven't even noticed.

Part of the reason why it doesn't work may simply be a trend; Google DON'T WANT their videos to be ripped from someone's browser, so it's more likely Mozilla has simply been told to remove realplayer's functionality from working in later versions.
Yes, Google doesn't want their videos downloaded - that is a violation of their Terms of Service (TOS).
Mozilla has nothing to do with the Download This Video button functionality - that is part of an Add-on for Firefox. Whoever made that add-on needs to keep it updated as new versions of Firefox are released.
DVDVideoSoft provides a youtube downloader that works; I suggest everybody use that for the foreseeable future.
I desperately want to download ff 21 to get realdownloader working again. However when I updated to 23 it was only afetr realdownloader stopped working in 21 . I have tried everything including resetting my entire system. nothing is working please help.
