How can I get my accounts back on FireFTP?
I have Firefox 23.0.1. I can't access my accounts anymore on FireFTP. I have no idea how or why they disappeared.
It says "choose an account" but there are no accounts any longer to choose from!
I can't see how to add a new account now either.
Anyone know how to fix this or can give advice on what to do about FireFTP?

Your FireFTP sites are stored in a file named fireFTPsites.dat in your currently active profile folder. This is a plain text file, but it could have become corrupted. You might check whether you can find the file and use the data in it to manually re-add your sites.
To access your currently active profile folder, you can use
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
If you find a file named fireFTPsites.dat you can copy it and then paste it and rename the copy with a more easily accessed extension such as .txt.
(This file does not contain your passwords. If you let FireFTP save those they are stored with your saved Firefox passwords.)
Note: If you used the Firefox Reset feature, then your last fireFTPsites.dat file would be in the Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop.
Can you find your sites?
To create an account, can you choose "Create an account" from the drop-down menu at the upper left above the local directory listing?

Thanks for your reply. I have already gone into Help>Troubleshooting Information>ShowFolder etc and I found the file fireFTPsites.dat but it will not allow me to copy and paste it. If I try to open it, it says it doesn't know what program was used to create it. Then I come to a dead end. I don't know what else to do if I can't do the copy and paste thing. Any further advice that would get my ftp accounts would be great. I'm hoping... PS...I haven't used the Firefox Reset feature. ;)
I was thinking: right-click the file > Copy, then right-click > Paste. Windows will insert "-Copy" into the name of the copy. Then right-click the copy and rename with a .txt extension at the end. Does that allow you to more easily open it?
yes, I can 'copy' by right clicking, but where am I to paste it to?
I have the support page where it says to copy and paste that file into the box shown, but that is where it won't allow me to paste when I right click, so I don't know if there's somewhere else it can be pasted.

When you right-click > Copy a file, you can simply right-click > Paste it into the same folder and Windows will give it a new name. Then rename that new file with a .txt extension so it is easier to open in a text editor.
