Rename images as I download them ("Save As" dialog)?
In Firefox for Android is it possible to download an image and rename it right away?
I am following a lot of webcomics on a regular basis and want to save favorite pages, i.e. the images. In order to be able to organize these images by comic later, I need the ability to rename the files. Switching to the download directory for renaming for every single file however would be highly intrusive during webcomic reading, so I need a "Save As" style dialog.
Dolphin provides such a dialog when choosing "Save Image", but I'd rather use firefox for the encrypted synchronization features.

There is no plans for such UI on Firefox for Android. Might make a good extension though.

Hello,
In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
Thank you!
The link only explains taking screenshots on the desktop. I am asking about Android. Sadly on my phone the common shortcuts like Power+Home, Power+VolumeDown don't work and even screenshot apps can't find a root-less method for taking a screenshot.
My best guess was to attach a screenshot of the corresponding functionallity in Windows.

This had been asked in #792670 too (from 03/2011). My workaround for this is to use Google Chrome, which has a "Save link" option (but no progress bar) or Opera (which does have a progress bar).
@cb0gus: "save link" only helps when there is a link to that image file -- which nowadays rarely applies. They are almost always embedded with an IMG tag and if they link to anything, they usually link to another webpage, not to the imagefile itself.
