Firefox sync is messing up my bookmarks daily.

Recently Firefox sync has been seriously screwing up all my bookmarks. I go back and forth between desktop and laptop regularly and each time it seems the layout of my links is different. I've had entire folders of links disappear (I had to go back to an old backup to find them again), everything rearranged on my toolbar, and weirdest of all is the repeating of a bunch of my links so that I have lists of 10 or more of the same exact link!! Over and over and over. I fix it, it happens again. Obviously something is going wrong with the sync, but I have no idea how to fix it!

Sorry to hear about this problem. It seems that a couple of other users are also getting duplicated bookmarks, also with Sync. I haven't seen a specific solution mentioned yet.

Excactly the same here - people have been complaining about this issue for years (just google it). I've a good mind to disable sync... and maybe ditch FF for Android altogether, because sync is the only good thing going for it, or NOT going for it as the case may be.

Why haven't FF techies fixed it? They've had plenty of time.

It was so bad I literally couldn't use Firefox. It rearranged my bookmarks almost daily and I rely on them heavily. So I have now switched to Chrome, which also has sync, and I'm loving it! Works great! I really liked Firefox but it became unusable, so Chrome fits the bill now!

Hi LordChilde, I think if the cause of this problem was obvious, it would have been addressed, but apparently it doesn't happen under laboratory conditions or isn't being reported during beta testing. What causes it to occasionally go haywire? That is the question...
