Old Modem from Comcast died. Went and bout a new Motorla SB6141 modem.

plugged it in, reset the wireless router, and got the Comcast Self Activation page.

All went well, said the device was activated and registered.

I can use the internet, EXCEPT for one site. Everytime I try and get to www.ourtime.com, the registration-activation-page keeps popping up! I've tried flushing my DSN, and powered the modem and router off and on.

This only happens in Firefox, so I cleared all cookies and cache from that app too.

Using Safari, I can get to the site. Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, so I was going to try resetting Firefox, and was looking for the tab under preferences.

Went to Advanced, and clicked on Network settings.

Then under Connections at the top of the tab.

"Use System proxy settings" was chosen, so I decided to try "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network".

Guess what? IT WORKED!

Didn't have to try resetting firefox, as the Mozilla "expert" suggested.

Just goes to show that these Mozilla "experts" are nothing more than low level, probably underpaid mimics, with a dartboard.

Hello PatElkGrove,

Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support. The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

You Mozilla guys are just as bad as Microsoft. Reboot, or reset the whole damn thing. Don't care if you lose any data.

Is this a guess? I'm betting it's just a stab in the dark. I'm not looking for a trick that "can fix many issues". I'm looking for specific answers as to what is going on and how to fix this one.

Since the problem now seems to be effecting Safari also, I suspect the problem lies deeper than just the browser.

I'll keep looking for other answers from people with more knowledge or are more willing to dig deeper than to provide pat answers.
