Bookmark custom "name" not appearing on tab
Firefox v 26 (no updates available) OSX 10.7.5 (no updates available) Extensions: Ghostery 5.1.0 & NoScript 2.6.8.13
I have successfully edited my bookmark name to reflect a 'custom' name of my choosing. When I start a search from the url window and begin typing any of the words/characters contained within my custom name I can see the bookmark. However, once I hit enter and the site loads, my custom name never appears on either the Firefox session window or the individual tab. This is also true If I am linked to a favorite web site from another site - the name I have defined within the bookmarks properties 'name field' just doesn't display. Is this normal behavior for Firefox, or hopefully just a setting issue for the current version of Firefox (v26)? I was certain the bookmark name displayed as the individual tab description prior to v26....
- Background - I want to flag certain web sites so that I do not place online orders from them - scams/bad customer reviews ect. I've changed the bookmark name to begin with the word SCAM as a self warning, but the custom name does not appear anywhere on the screen when the webpage loads...

By default, the tab or window title bar will display what is listed as the title in the page itself. I'm not aware of a setting to make it display the Name of the corresponding bookmark, although that would be a handy feature. Were you maybe using an add-on for that?
In thinking about how to accomplish your objective, I have to wonder why you load sites that you know to be untrustworthy in the first place? Would it be an option to just completely block them? I suppose they might have some value as information resources so you want to be able to read them...
It is possible I had an addon performing that task (I recently switched back to firefox after a 6+month absence). That said, I did see the description "SCAM" appear on the tab earlier today as I was testing the browser, only to immediately disappeared when I tried to jump from another web site to the one in question. After that, I couldn't replicate the even partial compliance to display the custom name again...
With regards to why I have them bookmarked - it is for the reason you noted above: while I won't order electronics from this vendor due to their horrendous reputation of sending DOA electronics and making customers pay shipping to get their money back, it is still a source of info and pricing for use in comparisons. I'd also like to be able to modify the name of sites who have a good reputation or I have used in the past...
There might be another way to do this. For example, you might be able to modify the page in a manner that provides a more visible warning or deactivates buttons. Imagine a yellow warning bar below the toolbar area saying "DO NOT SHOP" or all buttons having a red background, etc. If there is no extension available that does this, someone could write a custom userscript...
