when trying to import email the outlook option is not showing in the import window (apple or Eudora only)?
I have tried to import my email from Outlook for Mac 2011, however when I choose mail from the primary menu, and press next the secondary menu only offers me Apple Mail or Eudora.

unfortunately outlook for mac is not outlook many versions do not even use the same file formats and generally are incompatible with Windows outlook, let alone Thunderbird.
I understand one version of outlook or entourage even used the same mbox file format as Thunderbird. So what version of this worst of the worst Microsoft products are you trying to migrate from.

obviously it is not outlook as far as Thunderbird is concerned. Best I can suggest is a third part tool such as http://www.maildev.com/buy/
I have the same problem and am not about to pay $79 for a program that "might" work.I have been using Outlook 2011 for Mac with no issues until Apple updated its OS to Maverick. Since then, I have had multiple problems. After finding out that I'm not alone, I decided to try Thunderbird when moving to Apple Mail proved so tedious. Too bad there's not a warning on TB's Mac download page that Outlook 2011 files can't be migrated!
