I have changed my Options to ask me each time what I want to do with a pdf document. It's not working. What happens each time that I click on a pdf in an email attachment or on a website is that a pop-up Windows Explorer window asks me where I want to save the file. I DON'T want to save it, just open it. I had always been presented a choice by Firefox in the past, but the Firefox box giving options to me no longer appears. I've tried to change my Options/Applications in several different ways, but doing so seems to have no effect at all. I'm using Firefox 27.0.1 on a Windows 7 OS.

hello, to change the options for pdfs go to firefox > options > applications & scroll down and define the default action for the portable document format (pdf).

View PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer

Thank you very much for your help - it worked! When I had opened Options/Applications before, the first items that appear show six entries for "Adobe Acrobat Documents," and those are what I had changed with no results. After receiving this answer, I looked further down the list and found "portable document format," and when I changed that setting the problem was solved.
