It is possible that everything is still there but Thunderbird is not pointing to the correct location, so appears blank.

Profile folders are hidden folders.

Make hidden folders and files visible:

Look to see if Profile folder is still there; info at this link to locate folders. If there is more than one Profile folder, check all profile names to see which has the mail accounts.

eg: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\

then if Pop mail account look in 'Mail' folder for mail account name or if IMAP mail account 'IMAPMail' \ mail account name.

If you can see this, make a note of where it is.

Then in thunderbird,

  • 'Tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Server Settings' for the mail account
  • Look at the bottom on the right side for 'Local Directory:'
  • click on 'Browse' button and locate the mail account name:

eg: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\profile name\Mail\mail account name

  • then click on OK to save changes.
  • Close and reopen Thunderbird.

Can you see the account and emails etc?
