Text over-written by other text in Firefox under Fedora-20/KDE

I'm running Firefox under Fedora/KDE, on a ThinkPad T61p with rather high default resolutioon 1680x1050. I sometimes find that a text-area where I have to enter something, or just press "Accept" (or equivalent) is over-written by some other text, preventing me from entering anything. This problem does not occur when going to the same site in Windows, either using IE or Firefox. Is there some way to avoid this?

Did you make changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size?

  • Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

If you did then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
