No Flash player plugin in Firefox although available in IE, how do I copy it into Firefox?
Each time Flash player is needed in Firefox I get a message asking me to install it, but it is already installed, and if I do try to install it I get the message saying I have insufficient privileges despite being the adminitrator. This is getting very frustrating as if I really need to use Flash I have to go to IE. I can't enable the Shockwave Flash plugin is not in the plugin list for Firefox.

Crashes or other problems with certain multimedia content in Firefox (such as Youtube videos and Flash animations or games) can often be resolved by performing the steps in these Knowledge Base articles:
On Windows Vista and above, you can disable Flash protected mode by following the instructions on these pages:
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Disabling_Protected_Mode_in_Flash_11.3
(See this Adobe blog post for technical details about Flash protected mode.)
Please tell us if this helped!
Flash for IE (ActiveX version) and Flash for FF are separate downloads. So make sure you download the version for FF and install it.
markat22,
The browser you posted here with has Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0 installed for Firefox.
See if anything here helps you:

You can try to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
Also make sure to only install updates by visiting the official web page of its makes and never via a pop-up that you might get when visiting a website as such a pop-up is likely a scam to get you infected.

Thanks Cor-el for this. I have tried running as administrator as you suggest, but no better result. I think my problem might ba a microsoft issue rather than Mozilla or Adobe.
Thanks the-edmeister, but that is my problem, the Shockwave plugin is not on the list of plugins for Firefox - if it was I don't think I would have a problem.
