Please direct me to download location of latest stable version of Firefox 28?
Apparently I had Firefox set to automatically download/install new versions, which I regret, because version 29 was just install and it's the first version of Firefox that I truly dislike. I hate the round tabs, the orange button that I can't remove, and the transparent menubar. Also it seems like some of the icons on the right side have switched places so I keep clicking the wrong one. I don't see why so many companies decides to go for a fancy GUI rather than a simple and effective one! I am not using Firefox because it's pretty, I am using it because it's FAST, SIMPLE and EFFECTIVE! Or WAS anyway. I don't have time to get used to this ugly version. Please tell me a trusted location to download version 28 from. I can't find it on Mozilla's website, so where do I get it? I search for version 28 on Google and I find lots of sites that says "Download Firefox v28" then when I click them they try to push 29 on me anyway. PS: I have already tried the Classic Theme Restore add-on, and various other add-ons, but they still don't make it look exactly like v28, there are certain things that look different and I refuse to use it, so please don't bring up what I can do about this new version 29, I want it gone and I don't care about security threats etc because I don't visit untrusted sites. So please help me to do what I am asking for and don't try to talk me into doing this and that instead. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I too ran into this issue this morning despite not having the auto-install activated.
I downloaded firefox version 28.0 final from the major geeks site after doing a google search. I has been a while but I've downloaded software from that site in the past.
Malwarebytes and MSSE hasn't flagged anything and I now have FF back to my liking.
Hope this helps, SpecTRe X
Thanks! Got the old version back on and rid of that hideous version 29.

Just in case you want to disable FF's AutoUpdate
