Every week to 10 days, I open Firefox and find that all my add-ons other than Norton have disappeared. It is getting tiresome to have to continually reinstall add-ons I checked the profile as suggested and there is only one, a default set the day the add-ons disappear. I am using Windows 7 home edition, and I have been using Firefox in Sandboxie, but they disappear even in the one not sandboxed. This has been going on for about two months

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.

If this hasn't helped then also delete possible addons.json and addons.sqlite files.

Check out FEBE

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your extensions individually into installable .xpi files.

It will also make backup of files that you choose.
