Hi. The "downloading" animation near the top left corner of the screen has been going for the last few days on my phone. If I open about:downloads, it doesn't show anything as being downloaded.

Is there any way for me to find out what Firefox is downloading, if anything? And is there a way to stop it?

I'm using Firefox 59.0.2 on Android.

Thanks.

Hi

I think that your device is trying to update one or more applications (one of which is Firefox for Android - you seem to be using an older version).

I have seen this issue before and can be caused when you do not have sufficent free space for the application to install.

Disable the WiFi connection and from the Android homescreen select the Settings app (typically a cogwheel) and select Storage. Clear the cachaed data.

Now turn on the WiFi again and check for updates from Google Play.

If this does not work, I recomend asking the staff in your local phone shop and they should be able to help with this issue.
