I want to eliminate the animation that is on my Mozilla Firefox home page. It has been there since the latest update ( I do like the changes). I thought that once I opened it up and browsed through the new features it would go away and I would have my regular start page. I do not mind whats below the search box, I just dislike the animation above it. Thanks

Mozilla.org changes the display once in a while. After a time it gets changed back. Check out about:blank

If I am unable to change my my mozilla start page back to its original maybe I should just use another browser that doesn't have the annoying animation above the search box

If you'd like to remove the animation, you can follow the guidelines I've outlined here. I know it's not a completely straightforward fix, but it's really the best that I can do.

I hope that helped you! If it did, please mark this answer as the solution so that others can find information on the forums quickly. Thanks!

And of course, please post back if you need more help.

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page. Delete the storage\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Exit/Quit) to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default snippet set. You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref via the right-click context menu to the default value to re-enable the snippets.
