If I look for products, I get a pop up for Deal Finder which has random other offers and obscures the main site I am looking at.

This could happen because of a Malware in your Computer or an Add-on.

In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the Extensions button on the left side of the window.
  3. You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
  4. (Look for Add-on that has name similar to the issue you are facing) To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the Remove button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
  5. Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the Restart now link in the message.

Also scan with multiple and up to date tools for any malware. Especially the AdwCleaner one.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

P.S. Not related to the current problem.

I note from your system information aside that you have the standard Flash player and also two more of the Director types. You will normally only need the one.

The additional ones could cause problems so I suggest you remove both of them.

After that also visit the Adobe test site, with Firefox, and any other browser you use; to check your Adobe FlashPlayer is up to date. There have been a series of security releases over the last few days.

Make sure you leave Adobe Flashplayer's auto update feature turned on it will update further within the next few days to version 16.0.0.305
