How do I close or minimize the pane in the main window that shows the message ID, paths etc? Way too large and takes up screen space.

How do you close it? You press F8 and close the message pane that it is a part of.

How do you make it smaller? You install the add on Compact Header. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/compactheader/?src=hp-dl-featured
