A few weeks ago, the small window shown in the image I've attached here began appearing on top of the upper left corner of Firefox. Adblock Plus has successfully eliminated the ads it contained, but the window itself is still there until I manually close it. Once I've done that, I can close and reopen Firefox several times during a computing session without this extra window appearing, but after a computer reboot, there it is again. Surely there's a way to eliminate this annoying and invasive bit of Google garbage?

Thanks,

Tom Pallen

I'm not convinced that this is the result of malware -- just Google's eternal and obnoxious invasions of our privacy. Nor am I ready - yet - to refresh Firefox.

With the ads gone (thanks to Adblock), the annoying little window is connected to this URL: http://weeklycomputingidea.blogspot.com . As far as I know, I have closed my Google account (which I never asked for in the first place). Can someone please tell me how to banish Google from my computer completely?

Thanks

That isn't something a website could just place on your computer, it is either the result of an extension or malware. I'd suggest following the steps I gave you above.
