SAME PROBLEMS, NO SOLUTIONS FROM MOZILLA!!!

Firefox STILL freezes up, seemingly caused by one or more video players on various websites. This has been happening for over a year and a half, but the problem still has not fixed! The browser freezes, starts an invisible version of itself which needs to be closed before Firefox can be restarted. I've asked about this problem MULTIPLE TIMES since it started, but all I get are the same lame BS excuses, being asked to go through all the steps suggested for similar problems, which I've done but still DO NOT WORK! Here's a suggestion: FIX THE EXISTING PROBLEMS FIRST, BEFORE YOU CONCERN YOURSELVES WITH UPGRADES!!! This whole "community support" approach obviously doesn't help AT ALL, and I can't call anyone for help, so now what?!? I'm at my wits' end with this problem!

Hi bwmunson, I understand your frustration. Have you been getting slow/unresponsive script errors -- or did you change a setting to allow scripts to run longer? (That only causes the freezes to last longer...)

This can be caused by a problem with the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. It has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. There is a new hidden setting to disable it:

(A) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste flash and pause while the list is filtered

(C) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode preference to switch its value from false to true.

This might not take effect until all Flash has been unloaded for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

Any improvement?
